SUKKUR:

A group of men, allegedly from the Jatoi tribe, raided the Hamzo Jatoi village five days ago and abducted Badshahzadi, eight-year-old Mujeeb and three-year-old Tauqeer.

According to reports, the men broke into Mohammad Jatoi’s house and kidnapped his family wife and children. Badshahzadi’s sister Mai Soni registered the FIR with the Akil police against 10 men, including Ali Mardan, Mashooq Ali and Mohammad Warris.

So far the Larkana police have been unable to find the woman and her sons. Sources claim that the police raided villages in the kachcha areas, including Daulat Khuhro, and arrested five suspects.

They added that the men were released within a few hours after an influential Jatoi tribesman interfered. Akil SHO Mohammad Urs Noonari told The Express Tribune that they had conducted a raid and arrested two suspects who were being interrogated.

He added that the kachcha area was quite extensive and the police was trying its best to find the missing people.

Going back

Eight months ago Mohammad Hassan Jatoi and Jamila, the daughter of Rajab Ali Jatoi,  elopoed to get married.

The elopement caused a dispute between two groups of the Jatoi tribe. The couple feared a backlash from the family and moved to another village.

A couple of months later when the situation had calmed down they moved back to the village. Jamila’s relatives still felt cheated and demanded that their daughter should be sent back to them.

Mohammad Hassan refused to do so which in return complicated the situation. The police claim that Jamila’s relative have a hand in the abduction.
