Murder: Man gets life, another 7 years

A sessions court sentenced a man to life in prison and his accomplice was sentenced to seven years imprisonment

FAISALABAD: A sessions court sentenced a man to life in prison and his accomplice was sentenced to seven years imprisonment on Wednesday. According to the prosecution, 10 other accused were acquitted in a murder case registered with the Nishatabad police station. Police said that Chak no53-JB resident Naseeb Ali and Babar Ali along with 10 accomplices shot and killed Gulzar and injured Faryad over a land dispute in 2007.  Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Afzal Faheem sentenced Ali to life imprisonment and Babar Ali to 7-year imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 100,000 each. In case of non-payment of compensation and fine, the convicts would have to undergo an additional imprisonment of six months each.
