KARACHI:
The Sindh High Court has asked the chief of police to submit a list of all officers designated or working as investigating officers alongwith their educational qualifications and professional training. The order came during the hearing of a petition for a young man missing since January 2010. The bench had pointed out a number of lacunae and fatal mistakes in a report submitted by DSP Nayyar-ul Haq. The bench held that the police failed to professionally investigate. The DSP conceded that he was a simple graduate and has no training in the scientific collection of evidence. The case’s investigating officer is an undergraduate.
