Gasoline: ANP leader’s oil tanker stolen

An oil tanker owned by ANP Sindh leader Shahi Syed was hijacked by unidentified men from the Super Highway.

KARACHI: An oil tanker owned by Awami National Party Sindh leader Shahi Syed was hijacked by unidentified men from the Super Highway on Saturday. Reports claim that the truck driver Nisar Zameer was held hostage along two other. They were released soon after. The tanker was held while transporting gasoline from one pump to another within the limits of the Sachaal police station. SHO Azhar Iqbal said that the initial investigation showed that the men were involved in highway robberies. The police have increased spread their network to recover the tanker and arrest the suspects. ANP Sindh spokesperson Qadir Khan confirmed that the incident had taken place and said that the oil tanker was owned by Shahi Syed and was carrying 15,000 liters of diesel and 10,000 liters of petrol. The authorities have registered a case against the robbers on behalf of petrol station manager Shamim.
