INNOCENT yes indian fisherman r innocent my friend u know pakistan fisherman don't have any problum with indian fisherman, than why pakistan coast guard have problum..
In this modern era and as well as when these fishermen also have GPS and other communication system, it is not possible that these fishermen don't know that they are entering Pakistani waters. They enter with full intention to capture fish of Indus delta because they don't have fish in their area. in-fact they are steeling Pakistani fish and Pakistani fishermen rights. they also give a huge loss to Pakistani Exchequer.
this caption of the picture is incorrect as the men shown are those fishermen who were released by the pakistani goverment couple of months ago
Innocent fishermen
As a Pakistani I dont see any good coming out of locking these poor fishermen up. The sea boundaries are obviously not demarcated clearly. A better way of handling this for both the countries would be to create some sort of a joint sea patrol mechanism to ensure fishermen stay within their own boundaries. If a boat does cross over, it should be inspected and then handed over back to the naval patrol of it's country. Repeat offenders can be detained.
exchange of fishermen should be on the priority list not exchange of trade or MFN status.
India and pakistan should work out a joint policy for release of fishermen and accidental border crossers, so they don't languish in jails for years.
