RAWALPINDI:

The Federal Investigation Agency's (FIA) Anti-Human Trafficking Circle Rawalpindi has registered a case against 12 Pakistani nationals deported from Libya and the agents allegedly involved in sending them abroad illegally, following revelations made by the deportees.

According to officials, FIA Immigration at the New Islamabad International Airport took the 12 Pakistani nationals deported from Libya into custody and transferred them to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle Rawalpindi for further legal proceedings.

During the initial inquiry, it emerged that Muhammad Adnan Haider, Muhammad Jamal, Nabeel Ahmed, Saqib Shabbir, Muhammad Faizan, Sajjad Mahmood, Muhammad Akhlaq, Muhammad Anees, Roheel Tameer, Rehman Khalid, Saqib Ali and Arif Hussain had allegedly been lured by different agents with promises of overseas employment in exchange for hefty sums of money.

The agents allegedly sent them from Pakistan to Libya through Dubai and Egypt on visit and Umrah visas. From Libya, they were allegedly to be transported illegally to Italy by boats.

In light of these revelations, a case has been registered against the deportees as well as the agents allegedly involved in the operation.
