Police constable martyred, two injured in firing at Lakki Marwat judicial complex
Injured moved to Bannu hospital as police heighten security, initiate investigation

A police constable was martyred and two other people were injured when unidentified gunmen opened fire outside the courtroom of an additional sessions judge inside the Judicial Complex in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa's (K-P's) Lakki Marwat on Saturday.
District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital spokesperson Jalal Khan said Constable Karamatullah was killed on the spot, while PPP District Information Secretary Advocate Javed Iqbal received bullet wounds. Another individual, identified as Inshaullah, was also wounded in the firing.
Both the injured were taken to Bannu for medical treatment, with Khan confirming that one body and two injured persons had been brought to the hospital for medical treatment.
The armed assailants reportedly opened indiscriminate fire outside the courtroom, triggering panic and prompting lawyers, litigants and other visitors to rush for safety as gunshots rang out.

Following the incident, a heavy contingent of police reached the complex and initiated an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting and identify those responsible. Authorities subsequently sealed the complex and suspended all entry and exit movements, with the area placed under heightened security.
The incident also raised security concerns due to the judicial complex being a sensitive government facility where lawyers, litigants, judges and members of the public visit daily.
Investigations were initiated to ascertain further details regarding the motive behind the attack and the identity of the assailants.
