'Ghosts' star Asher Grodman teases high-stakes Christmas special after Pete's return
Asher Grodman reacts to Pete's major memory-loss twist in 'Ghosts' season 6 and teases the upcoming Christmas special

Ghosts star Asher Grodman has shared his reaction to the surprising return of Pete in the season 6 Halloween special, revealing how the character's unexpected memory loss could shape the show's upcoming episodes.
The Halloween special, which aired on CBS on October 30, marked the return of Richie Moriarty's Pete after his disappearance in the season 5 finale. However, his comeback came with an unexpected complication: Pete has lost his memories of the past 40 years as a ghost.
Speaking to PEOPLE, Grodman, who plays Trevor, said the development creates interesting possibilities for the series, particularly because of the relationships among the eight ghosts.
At the end of the special, Pete reappears at Woodstone Manor on the anniversary of his death but appears unaware of the experiences and friendships he has developed since becoming a ghost.
Grodman described the storyline as an opportunity to explore how the other characters respond to someone who is physically present but has lost his shared history with them. He also confirmed that Pete's memory loss will continue when the show returns with its Christmas special in December.
The upcoming one-hour episode will feature a storyline inspired by the action film Die Hard. Grodman revealed that Trevor will play an important role in both the trouble and its resolution, teasing a high-stakes instalment that will show some characters in unfamiliar situations.
Meanwhile, season 6 marks another milestone for the CBS comedy, which is expected to reach its 100th episode in 2027.
Grodman expressed gratitude for the show's continued success, describing the production as a collaborative and enjoyable experience.
Ghosts season 6 returns in December with its Christmas special on CBS. Seasons 1 through 5 and the Halloween special are currently available on Paramount+.
