North Korea fires dozen ballistic missiles toward East Sea: South Korea
Latest launch comes after Pyongyang fired multiple ballistic missiles toward East Sea on October 12

North Korea fired around a dozen short-range ballistic missiles towards the East Sea, also known as the Sea of Japan, on Thursday, the South Korean army said, according to local media.
The missiles were launched from the Wonsan area, with further analysis of their flight distances and other specifications underway, Seoul-based Yonhap News reported, citing the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
The army said it had stepped up surveillance and remained vigilant against any potential additional launches while maintaining a robust defence posture through close information-sharing with the US and Japan related to the latest missile launch.
