Woman alleges torture by in-laws
Says they beat her, cut off her hair, locked her up and forced her into housemaid work

A 20-year-old woman was allegedly mistreated and subjected to violence by her in-laws, who reportedly hit her and cut off her hair, in the Shah Khalid Colony (Fazal Town) area, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Chaklala Police Station.
A case has been registered against her husband and his relatives based on the victim's statement. The husband, father-in-law and mother-in-law have been taken into custody, while police raids are underway to apprehend the brother-in-law.
A case has been registered against the husband (Hassan), the father-in-law, the mother-in-law, and the brother-in-law (Ahsan) based on the statement of the woman, Nayab Zahra.
Nayab Zahra, who has been placed under police protective custody, stated that she is 20 years old and had married the accused, Hassan, five months ago. She alleged that ever since the marriage, her husband and in-laws had been beating her and forcing her to work as a domestic help in other people's homes; however, she endured their mistreatment for the sake of her marriage.
She further stated that on October 25, while her husband was away at work, her mother-in-law, father-in-law and brother-in-law, Ahsan, beat her up and cut off her hair. When her husband returned, she informed him that his family had beaten her, cut her hair and committed severe atrocities against her. Instead of believing her, she said that her husband beat her further and locked her inside the house. Nayab explained that as soon as she got the chance, Seizing escaped to her neighbour's house and informed them of the situation.
Police officials have stated that Nayab's medical examination was conducted following her statement. A case has been registered, and the husband, father-in-law, and mother-in-law have been taken into police custody. Further investigation has commenced, covering all aspects of the case, while raids are also being conducted to apprehend the fourth suspect, Nayab's brother-in-law, Ahsan.
