Beast, whose real name is Dr Henry Philip McCoy, is a prominent member of the X-Men. The character is known for his scientific intelligence, strategic thinking and distinctive blue, furry appearance. Although Hank initially resembles a human, he undergoes physical changes that give him his recognisable appearance.

The character has previously been portrayed in live-action films by Kelsey Grammer and Nicholas Hoult. Grammer played an older version of Beast in X-Men: The Last Stand and later appeared in The Marvels. Hoult portrayed a younger version of the character in X-Men: First Class, X-Men: Days of Future Past and X-Men: Apocalypse.

Marvel Studios is developing a reboot of the X-Men franchise as the characters are set to become part of the MCU. The original comic series, created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, debuted in 1963 and introduced a team of mutant superheroes led by Professor Charles Xavier.

Further details about the upcoming X-Men reboot, including its cast and storyline, have yet to be officially announced.
