Household items worth millions of rupees were allegedly stolen from the residence of former prime minister and PPP leader Raja Pervaiz Ashraf despite the deployment of police personnel for security. Police said two domestic employees were taken into custody.
The theft was reported at the ex-PM's residence in Dhok Amb. The FIR stated that the former PM's PA arrived at the residence and found domestic employee Ali Akbar absent.
A subsequent inspection of the rooms and other parts of the residence revealed that three air conditioners, two doors, three windows, a grass-cutting machine, carpets, three fans, decorative items, crockery and other valuable household belongings were missing.
The ex-PM's personal assistant lodged a complaint with Jatli police, naming Ali Akbar and requesting that another domestic employee, Muhammad Zada, also be questioned in connection with the incident. The two were later arrested.
