Over 9k doctors seek postgrad admission
Test held in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad and Multan

A total of 9,008 doctors appeared in the Postgraduate Entrance Test (PGET) conducted by the University of Health Sciences (UHS) simultaneously in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad and Multan on Sunday.
The test is mandatory for admission to Level III postgraduate medical and dental programmes, including the FCPS, MD, MS and MDS. It was conducted through two question papers, beginning at 10am and concluding at 2:30pm, with a 30-minute break.
Of the candidates, 4,579 were women and 4,429 men. Lahore recorded the highest number of candidates at 4,107, followed by Multan with 2,353, Rawalpindi 1,516 and Faisalabad 1,032.
The Punjab University Examination Halls on Wahdat Road served as the examination venue in Lahore, while the respective medical universities hosted candidates in the other three cities.
The provincial government had arranged the PGET for the first time, replacing the Joint Centralised Admission Test previously used for admissions to the programmes.
The results are expected to be announced next week, according to the UHS.
