CM endorses police version in Hina Javed murder case

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has issued an important statement on the high-profile murder and alleged rape case of Hina Javed in Rawalpindi, saying she is personally examining the case in detail to provide reassurance and satisfaction to the victim's family.

However, she reiterated the same investigative position regarding the alleged involvement of a domestic employee in the murder and alleged rape that the victim's family has refused to accept.

Responding to a post on social media platform X by senior journalist Mubashir Zaidi, who drew attention to the Hina Javed murder case, the chief minister said she was personally monitoring the case closely to ensure that the victim's family received reassurance and satisfaction.

According to the chief minister, DNA and polygraph test results indicate the involvement of the domestic employee in Hina Javed's murder and rape. However, she said the investigation was still underway.

An important aspect of the chief minister's statement is that, while she assured the victim's family that she was personally monitoring the case to address their concerns, she reiterated the same investigative position that the family had already strongly questioned.

The victim's family is unwilling to accept the claim that the domestic employee was responsible for the murder and alleged rape and has repeatedly expressed reservations about the investigation.
