RJ Mitte accused business manager Lisa Harrison of mishandling his earnings before his death
Mitte said he had trusted a manager with tax payments while building his career as a young actor

The financial allegations surrounding late Breaking Bad actor RJ Mitte have resurfaced following reports identifying the business management company he accused of mishandling his earnings.
Mitte, who played Walter White Jr. on the acclaimed television drama, died on October 12, 2026, aged 34. His representative confirmed that he died by suicide. However, there is no verified evidence that the financial dispute caused his death.
In a November 2025 appearance on The Iced Coffee Hour podcast, Mitte said he had hired a business manager as a teenager to help protect his income. He claimed money intended for tax payments was diverted, leaving him responsible for unpaid taxes and additional charges.
“I’ve paid more in taxes than I got from Breaking Bad,” he said during the interview, describing the financial consequences of the arrangement.
According to recent reports citing a police complaint, Mitte and his mother raised concerns with authorities in 2015. The reports identify Harrison Business Management, operated by Lisa Harrison, as the company involved. Mitte alleged that money had been taken from funds intended to cover his financial obligations.
The allegations have not resulted in criminal charges against Harrison in connection with Mitte’s claims, according to reporting by The Blast. Her husband, attorney David Brody, has denied wrongdoing, telling the Daily Mail that she had done nothing wrong.
Mitte also claimed during his podcast appearance that other actors had experienced similar problems. He said resolving the financial situation was difficult and described the lengthy process of addressing the resulting tax liabilities.
The renewed attention has prompted discussion about the financial risks young performers can face when entrusting their earnings to professionals. Mitte began acting at a young age and became widely recognised through Breaking Bad, which ran from 2008 to 2013.
Beyond his acting career, he was an advocate for disability rights, drawing on his own experience living with cerebral palsy. His death has prompted tributes from former co-stars and renewed interest in his life and career.
