LAHORE: A man was shot and killed when he tried to stop a shooting in Sherakot on Thursday. Two others were injured in the incident. Moazzam Shah told the police that he had given possession of the property at Bhatti Street Chowk to Rana Faheem on ‘pagri’ – money charged by the person in possession of the property to relinquish possession – but the latter had started claiming ownership of it. The two neighbours were arguing about it when Faheem pulled out a gun and opened fire at Shah. A bystander named Ahsan and Shah were injured. Shah said Lala Akram, 55, a resident of Babu Sabu, had tried to intervene to stop Faheem from shooting him, but was hit and killed in the process.
