LAHORE:

The School Education Department is set to start the "School Meal Program" across 13 districts of Punjab with a budget of Rs6.87 billion.

The programme aims to provide servings of milk three days a week and a serving of milk with biscuits once a week to 1,028,000 school students. The Chief Minister of Punjab has given formal approval to start this program in 7,294 schools, effective from September this year.

The programme was first piloted in three districts in 2023-24 and was later expanded to 13 districts in 2024-25.
