Penelope Spheeris claims Jennifer Aniston was behind a bizarre gift on 'Five' set
Penelope Spheeris claims Jennifer Aniston gave her a bedazzled adult accessory to allegedly humiliate her publicly

Director Penelope Spheeris has claimed that Jennifer Aniston was behind an unusual gift she believed was intended to embarrass her in front of a film crew.
The 80-year-old filmmaker made the allegation during an appearance on The Moynihan Report podcast, recalling an incident from the set of Five, a 2011 television anthology film.
Spheeris said she received a sex toy decorated with rhinestones, which she described as unusable. According to her account, a producer gave her the item in a gift box that she associated with Aniston, leading her to suspect the Friends star was involved.
However, Spheeris clarified that Aniston did not personally hand her the gift. Instead, she said the packaging contributed to her belief that the actress was behind the gesture. The director alleged that the present was intended to humiliate her in front of the crew and described the incident as mean-spirited.
Five featured five short films exploring the effects of breast cancer on women and their families. Aniston was one of the directors involved in the project, alongside Patricia Clarkson, Demi Moore, Alicia Keys and Patty Jenkins.
Spheeris is best known for directing The Decline of Western Civilization documentary trilogy and the 1992 comedy Wayne’s World. Her account of the alleged incident has resurfaced more than a decade after Five was released.
The claims reflect Spheeris’s recollection of the incident. The supplied report does not include a response from Aniston addressing the allegation.
