Grand Theft Auto 6 could launch on PC in the first quarter of 2027, according to a report from GamesBeat citing four industry sources.

If reports are proven accurate, the release would mean PC players may not have to wait as long as expected to play Rockstar Games’ upcoming title.

The reported launch window runs from January to March 2027. Rockstar has yet to confirm a PC release date in the information provided, so the timeline remains unconfirmed.

The reported plan would differ from the company’s previous release strategy. Grand Theft Auto 5 arrived on PC nearly two years after its console debut, while Red Dead Redemption 2 took slightly more than a year to reach PC following its console release.

A relatively early PC launch could give players another option beyond consoles, including those considering whether to purchase a PlayStation 5 Pro for the game. However, the experience on PC would depend on players having hardware powerful enough to run the title.

A PC version could also become an important platform for the Grand Theft Auto roleplaying community. The PC edition of GTA 5 has supported a popular roleplaying scene.

The game is scheduled to launch on consoles on November 19 2026. A PC release in early 2027 would follow only a few months later, marking a shorter potential gap than the studio’s previous major releases.
