McKenna Grace recreated one of Jennifer Lawrence’s most memorable Hunger Games looks as she paid tribute to Katniss Everdeen at a special franchise exhibition in Paris.

Grace, 20, wore a replica of the gown Lawrence wore as Katniss in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire at the costume exhibition “Elegance Is Authority: The Story, Style and Power of Panem” on October 6. The event was held at the Musée Rodin in Paris.

The A-line gown was designed by Monique Lhuillier, while the original dress worn by Lawrence was created by Tex Saverio in collaboration with The Hunger Games costume designer Trish Summerville. Grace’s replica featured a fitted bodice with delicate beading, a tiered ballgown skirt and silver embellishments extending from the strapless neckline.

She completed the look with feathers in her hair and diamond earrings, while her blonde hair was styled in an updo with a braided headband. Her makeup included white eyeshadow, long lashes, bronzed cheeks and pink-lined lips.

Grace later shared her excitement about recreating the costume on Instagram, describing herself as a “massive fan” of the franchise. She said the opportunity was special and that she wanted to pay homage to Katniss while recognising the significance of the dress.

The actress also showed off the look on TikTok while posing inside the Musée Rodin. Her caption referenced a line from Suzanne Collins’ The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping: “If you let them treat you like an animal, they will, so don’t let them.” Fans quickly praised the tribute, with several referencing Katniss’ iconic nickname, the Mockingjay and the franchise’s famous imagery.

Lawrence originally wore the dress in the 2013 film The Hunger Games: Catching Fire during Katniss’ televised appearance with Caesar Flickerman, played by Stanley Tucci. The character’s wedding dress becomes part of the film’s dramatic transformation when she spins and the gown catches fire, revealing the Mockingjay-inspired look underneath.

Grace’s tribute comes as excitement surrounding The Hunger Games continues to build ahead of the upcoming adaptation of Collins’ Sunrise on the Reaping. Grace has previously spoken about being a longtime fan of the franchise and even revealed that she once created fan edits of Josh Hutcherson, who played Peeta Mellark in the original films.

The actress later worked with Hutcherson on Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, making her earlier fandom revelation an amusing part of her connection to the franchise.
