Halle Berry completes court-ordered parenting programme amid Olivier Martinez custody battle
Berry had completed the “Our Children First” online mediation orientation and parent education programme

Halle Berry has completed a court-ordered parenting programme amid her ongoing custody dispute with ex-husband Olivier Martinez over their 13-year-old son, Maceo.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Berry signed a certificate on Tuesday confirming that she had completed the Los Angeles Superior Court’s “Our Children First” online mediation orientation and parent education programme.
The programme is required for parents involved in custody or visitation disputes in Los Angeles County. Berry’s completion of the course comes as she and Martinez continue their legal battle over arrangements for their son.
Martinez previously accused Berry of physically abusing Maceo during an incident on September 26. He alleged that the actress put her hands around their son’s neck and choked him while he was playing a virtual reality game.
Berry has denied the allegations, saying the incident involved playful roughhousing and insisting that she never put her hands around Maceo’s neck. She has also said she would never hurt their child and described herself as a domestic violence victim and advocate rather than a perpetrator.
A judge previously granted Martinez’s request for a temporary restraining order, while Berry retained final decision-making authority over Maceo’s mental health and education. Her parenting time was temporarily modified as the custody dispute continues.
Berry has also asked the court to restore the 50-50 custody arrangement she previously shared with Martinez. She has accused her ex-husband of interfering with their son’s therapy and education and of contributing to conflict between her and Maceo. Martinez has denied wrongdoing and said his actions are motivated by concern for their son’s welfare.
The former couple had previously participated in co-parenting therapy in 2024 after agreeing to work with a parenting coach to resolve disputes and improve their relationship as co-parents.
The latest filing comes ahead of the former couple’s next court hearing, which is scheduled for October 16. The custody arrangements and allegations remain subject to the ongoing legal proceedings.
