The second annual matriculation examinations will kick off across Punjab today (Tuesday), including Rawalpindi Division. The Rawalpindi Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) has completed all arrangements for the examinations.
A total of 45 examination centres have been established across Rawalpindi Division to ensure the transparent, orderly and peaceful conduct of the examinations.
According to Rawalpindi BISE Chairman Professor Dr Iqbal Mahmood, the centres include 16 for male candidates, 13 for female candidates, 15 combined centres and one centre at a jail
CCTV cameras have been installed at all examination centres for strict surveillance. Special inspection teams have also been constituted to prevent cheating, use of unfair means and other irregularities. The teams will visit examination centres daily, monitor the examination process and submit reports to the board office.
Online monitoring of the centres will continue through the board's command and control centre. Sensitive and high-risk examination centres will be monitored online to ensure effective oversight and enable immediate action in the event of any untoward situation.
Professor Mahmood said the board had adopted a zero-tolerance policy towards the cheating mafia and that no candidate or group would be allowed to compromise the transparency of the examination system.
He said candidates found using unfair means or other illegal methods would be given no concession.
