Sienna Miller recalls how Oli Green’s surprise proposal caught her off guard during a walk in Central Park

Sienna Miller has opened up about fiancé Oli Green’s surprise proposal, joking that she thought, “Please, God, not now,” when she realised what was happening.

The American Sniper actress, 44, discussed the proposal during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Thursday, September 24. Miller said Green, 29, proposed during a casual walk in Central Park in May, shortly after they welcomed their second child together.

When host Jimmy Fallon asked whether she knew the proposal was coming, Miller said she had no idea. She explained that she was in what she jokingly described as a “full postpartum beauty” moment, with greasy hair and stains on her T-shirt.

Miller recalled becoming suspicious when Green started acting differently during their walk. She said he became quiet and appeared nervous, prompting her to realise that something romantic was about to happen.

The actress revealed that the proposal took place the day after her May 14 appearance on The Tonight Show. She later confirmed her engagement publicly after being photographed in Barcelona, Spain, wearing an engagement ring in June.

Miller and Green were first linked in 2022 after reportedly meeting at a Halloween party years earlier. Miller said they eventually got together at another Halloween party several years later.

The couple welcomed their first child together in late 2023 and their second child earlier this year. Miller also shares daughter Marlowe, 13, with her former partner Tom Sturridge.

Miller has previously discussed her relationship with Green, saying in a 2024 Harper’s Bazaar interview that their romance developed more seriously than she initially expected.

Miller’s new legal drama series War is scheduled to premiere on HBO and Max on October 1.
