Sharon Stone says her career was never meant to be about sex psychos

Looking back, she said, “My lane was never going to be sex psychos,” while explaining how audiences and the industry have continued to associate her with a particular type of role.

Stone also spoke about her work on HBO’s Euphoria, where she plays a powerful Hollywood producer in the third season. The actress said the series resonated with her because of its willingness to explore difficult aspects of human behaviour rather than presenting everything as neat or comfortable.

Her comments come as Stone continues to work alongside a younger generation of Hollywood actors, including Sydney Sweeney on Euphoria. Stone previously defended Sweeney amid controversy surrounding the actress’ American Eagle campaign, telling Variety that performers should be able to embrace their appearance and use their appeal as part of their careers.

Stone has remained active in film and television after establishing herself as one of Hollywood’s most recognisable stars in the 1990s. Her recent work includes Euphoria, where she has joined the ensemble for the show’s third season.
