Alan Ritchson and wife Catherine announce split after 20 years of marriage

The couple said they want to give each other space to grow and requested privacy as they adjust to co-parenting 3 sons

Alan Ritchson and his wife, Catherine Ritchson, have announced their separation after 20 years of marriage, sharing that they intend to continue raising their three sons together.

The couple announced the decision in a joint Instagram post on Saturday.

“After twenty years together, Cat and I have decided to end our marriage and continue alongside one another in a different way,” they wrote.

“We grew up together. We built a life and a family together. And we are raising three incredible boys who will always be the center of our world.”

The statement also emphasised their commitment to co-parenting and maintaining a respectful relationship

. “Nothing can diminish what these years have meant to us — or the love and respect we will always share,” they wrote. “The best gift we can give one another — and our boys — right now is friendship, grace and a commitment to becoming the strongest co-parents we can be.”

In a 2024 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Ritchson recalled meeting Catherine while they were both taking classes at a state college during high school. They later reconnected and married in 2006.

The couple have three sons.
