Megan Thee Stallion has opened up about her relationship with NBA star Klay Thompson, revealing that she often felt “on edge all the time” during their romance.

The rapper discussed her short-lived relationship with Thompson in a new interview with InStyle, reflecting on how the experience affected her sense of identity and wellbeing.

“I think I just kept trying to make pieces fit that didn't belong, trying to fit myself into someone else's life,” Megan said. “I was losing myself a little bit. I am now in the space of finding me again.”

Megan also stressed the importance of respect and equality in a relationship. She said she does not want a partner she has to support or “prop up”, but instead wants a genuine 50-50 partnership in which both people contribute equally.

The rapper also reiterated her stance on infidelity, describing fidelity as “non-negotiable” for her. Her comments appear to reference previous speculation surrounding her relationship with Thompson and allegations that he was unfaithful.

Megan further encouraged people dealing with infidelity to remember that cheating is a choice made by the person who cheats and does not reflect the attractiveness, value or importance of the person who was betrayed.

The relationship between Megan Thee Stallion and Klay Thompson became public in 2024, when the rapper and NBA player were spotted together on several occasions. Thompson was playing for the Dallas Mavericks at the time.

The pair eventually went their separate ways, and Thompson has since moved on to the Miami Heat.

Megan's latest comments suggest she is now focused on rebuilding her confidence and reconnecting with herself following the end of the relationship.
