Two remanded in Defence assault case

KARACHI:

A judicial magistrate (South) has remanded two suspects, arrested in the case involving the assault of young man Ali Jafri in Defence into police custody for three days.

The police produced suspects Waqar and Ibrahim before the magistrate. Ali Jafri was represented by lawyers Talha Baloch and Osama Ali.

The counsel for the suspects claimed that the viral video was actually generated using artificial intelligence and alleged that the victim was being pressured into filing the case.

Counsel for Ali Jafri, Talha Baloch and Osama Ali, requested the court to order forensic examination of the video. They said the police needed to recover the weapon used in the assault from the suspects and conduct a site identification.
