Gwen Stefani has announced the death of her beloved dog Betty, who died at the age of 18.
The No Doubt singer, 56, shared the news on Instagram alongside a montage of photographs and videos documenting Betty's life with Stefani, her husband Blake Shelton and their family.
"It's with the heaviest hearts that we share our sweet betty has gone to heaven," Stefani wrote.
"She made us all smile for 18 years… we're going to miss her forever. thank u betty for all the love + joy u brought into our lives."
Betty originally belonged to Shelton, although he previously joked that she had become more attached to Stefani.
"She's Gwen's dog now," Shelton said during a 2020 interview with CMT, while Stefani maintained that Betty loved them both.
The dog also appeared alongside the couple in the music video for their 2020 duet "Nobody But You". The video included footage of Stefani and Shelton together with Betty between them.
Just weeks before announcing Betty's death, Stefani shared footage from the VOA Country Music Festival, where she joined Shelton onstage to perform "Nobody But You" and "Happy Anywhere".
"me + betty decided to pull up on @blakeshelton," Stefani wrote on Instagram at the time.
Betty's death comes two months after Stefani and Shelton celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary.
