KJ Apa, Isabel May and Archie Renaux’s Falling will hit North American cinemas in October before its VOD release

KJ Apa, Isabel May and Archie Renaux’s upcoming romantic drama Falling is heading to cinemas in North America after Brainstorm Media acquired the film for theatrical distribution.

The London-set YA romance, produced by Gulfstream Pictures, will open in North American theatres on October 9, followed by a video-on-demand release on November 10. Voltage Pictures is handling international sales for the film.

Written and directed by brothers James Krisel and Colin Krisel, Falling centres on an unusual love triangle involving two friends and the same woman. The film explores what happens when the woman of one man’s dreams is also the person his best friend falls for.

Set against the backdrop of London, the romantic drama follows the trio as they navigate love, friendship and modern dating while trying to protect their relationships and pursue their own happiness.

Apa, best known for playing Archie Andrews in Riverdale, stars alongside May, who has appeared in Scream 7 and Mr. Irrelevant, and Renaux, whose credits include Alien: Romulus and The Other Zoey.

Brainstorm Media CEO Michelle Shwarzstein praised the cast’s on-screen chemistry, saying it helps make the film’s central love triangle particularly entertaining.

Falling is produced by Mike Karz and Bill Bindley of Gulfstream Pictures, Matt Luber and Lena Roklin of Luber Roklin Entertainment, and Piers Tempest of Tempo Productions. Apa, Dakota Rosen and Tom Salentine serve as executive producers.

The film was financed by Gulfstream Pictures and Clerendon Road Productions. Its theatrical release gives the YA romance a chance to reach audiences on the big screen before arriving on VOD.
