MIANWALI:

The district administration and food department have intensified action against the illegal transportation and smuggling of wheat, flour and fine flour in Mianwali, seizing two trucks carrying flour.

The officials said the crackdown was conducted in coordination with police in line with Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif's directives to curb the illegal movement of wheat and flour.

During an operation in the jurisdiction of Daud Khel Police Station, officials intercepted two trucks and recovered 1,800 bags of flour, each weighing 20 kilogrammes, along with 670 bags of maida, each weighing 49 kilogrammes.

The seized flour was auctioned at the officially fixed rate. Deputy Commissioner Shahid Abbas Kathia visited the Mianwali Wheat Procurement Centre and inspected the auction process.
