Eva Mendes says her 'de Gosling' tattoo, seemingly inspired by Ryan Gosling, is the only tattoo she has wanted

Eva Mendes has opened up about the tattoo on her wrist that has long sparked speculation about her relationship with Ryan Gosling.

Mendes, 52, recently shared photos on Instagram that included a look at the tattoo, which reads “de Gosling”. After a follower pointed out the ink in the comments, the actress and entrepreneur explained that it is the only tattoo she has.

“It’s the only one I have, the only one I’ve ever wanted,” Mendes wrote.

The tattoo, which she first publicly showed in 2022, has led to speculation that it could reference Gosling and a possible married name. In Latino culture, “de” can be used to connect a woman’s surname with her husband’s surname after marriage.

Mendes and Gosling, 45, met while working on the 2011 film The Place Beyond the Pines. The couple have kept much of their relationship private and share two daughters, Esmeralda, 11, and Amanda, 10.

Mendes referred to Gosling as her “husband” during a 2022 television appearance, although reports that the couple had secretly married have never been publicly confirmed.

The pair have continued to share occasional glimpses of their relationship. In July, Mendes revealed that they had welcomed a new dog named Charlie to their family.

Despite their busy schedules, Mendes said in April that she and Gosling make time for regular date nights. She explained that they enjoy watching films together and make an effort to maintain their time as a couple.

Mendes has also previously spoken about keeping their personal life away from public attention, saying they know where to go when they do not want attention.

Her latest comment about the “de Gosling” tattoo offers another glimpse into her long-running relationship with the La La Land star.
