Lil Nas X has announced the death of his mother, Tameka Hill, at the age of 27, sharing a tribute to her on Instagram.

The “Old Town Road” rapper confirmed Hill’s death on Saturday, August 29, alongside a series of photographs showing his mother and other family moments from his childhood and rise to fame.

“RIP TO THE BADDEST EVER! LOVE U FOREVER MOMMY. this one's gonna hurt,” Lil Nas X wrote in the caption.

The circumstances and date of Hill’s death have not been disclosed, and her age remains unknown.

Hill’s death comes as Lil Nas X has continued to navigate personal challenges in recent years.

In August 2025, the rapper was arrested in Los Angeles after he was reportedly seen walking down the street wearing only underwear and boots while appearing disoriented.

He was charged with three felony counts of battery with injury to a police officer and one count of resisting arrest. Lil Nas X pleaded not guilty to the charges and was later diagnosed with bipolar disorder.
