Lego Skylines city builder announced by Cities: Skylines II developers

Lego Skylines is new city builder from Iceflake Studios, coming to PC and current consoles

Lego Skylines has been announced at Gamescom Opening Night Live, introducing a city-building game set in a world made from Lego bricks and populated by yellow minifigures.

The project is being developed by Iceflake Studios, the team currently working on Cities: Skylines II.

The announcement marks another collaboration between Iceflake Studios and Paradox Interactive, which retained the rights to the Cities: Skylines franchise after parting ways with Colossal Order in November 2025.

Iceflake Studios subsequently took over active development of Cities: Skylines II and is now working with Paradox on Lego Skylines.

The game will put players in charge of developing and managing a Lego city. According to the game's Steam page, players will need to manage essential services including electricity, food and water while creating homes, workplaces and public spaces for residents.

"Cover the basics like electricity, food, and water," the Lego Skylines Steam page reads. "Then make it a place your citizens will love. Give them homes that one-up the neighbors. Good jobs. Great parks. Donut shops on every corner because that would be awesome. A frankly absurd amount of buildings, decorations, and other cool stuff (customization stuff) will make it easy to create a city that’s got your fingerprints all over it."

Players will also be responsible for services such as hospitals, wheat production, rubbish collection and sewage management.

"LEGO Skylines puts you in charge of, well, everything. Remember hospitals to keep everyone in one piece. Wheat for the donuts. Garbage collection, sewage, and all the other things that make a city click."

Lego Skylines does not currently have a release date or release window. When it launches, it will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC.
