Fares reduced after diesel price cut
.

The Goods Transport Federation and long-route public transport operators have reduced fares following a Rs32.63-per-litre cut in diesel prices.
Goods transport fares have been reduced by 10 per cent, while long-route fares for surrounding areas have been cut by 5pc.
However, local taxis, Qingqis and motorbike rickshaws have increased fares by another 5pc following a Rs3 increase in petrol prices. The stop-to-stop fare for vehicles remains Rs50.
Qingqi and motorbike operators have increased fares on all routes.
The fare for goods transport containers and trailers from Karachi to Rawalpindi has been reduced by Rs50,000.
The fare for containers, trailers and heavy wheelers from Karachi to Peshawar, previously Rs800,000, has been reduced to Rs750,000.
The Goods Transport and Public Transport Federations announced that the reduction in fares would remain effective for only 24 hours. If the government increases petroleum product prices on Thursday or Friday, the reduction will be withdrawn in the same proportion.
They said bookings for wheelers, trailers and containers made by Thursday evening for Karachi-Peshawar and Peshawar-Lahore, Karachi and Multan routes would also be revised upward in proportion to any increase in petrol and diesel prices, with additional fares charged.
