Actor urges production houses to introduce stricter regulations after unreleased 'Zanjeerain' footage surfaces online

Actor Rabya Kulsoom has called for leaked videos from drama sets, including footage revealing upcoming plots and private conversations, to be treated as a criminal offence when shared without consent.

Kulsoom shared a leaked clip from the hit series Zanjeerain, featuring Sajal Ali and Danyal Zafar in an intimate scene. In response, she highlighted the importance of consent in production, emphasising that footage should not be shared without the permission of the actors or production crew.

Actor Usman Javed, who is also part of the drama, questioned how the footage was leaked and called for action to protect the hard work of the cast and crew.

Taking to her Instagram Story, Kulsoom wrote, “This is becoming a norm and can harm everyone in different ways. Production houses and channels should make strict regulations to stop this!!”

She added, “Leaking crucial videos from sets revealing a drama’s upcoming plot or personal space conversations, jokes, situations etc should be held as a criminal offence now!!”

Usman Javed, who plays the character of Torsam Khan in Zanjeerain, also commented on the leaked clip, questioning how the footage made its way online.

“Who is responsible for this blunder? They must be from the set of Zanjeerain. Whoever it is needs to stop. You are wasting everyone’s time and hard work,” he wrote.

 

Fans also agreed with the actor in the comments, emphasising the importance of protecting scripts and actors’ privacy.

Zanjeerain has currently aired 29 episodes, with eight more episodes remaining before the drama reaches its much-anticipated finale.

The recent leak of unreleased footage is particularly significant as it risks revealing key moments and developments in the upcoming episodes.
