George Russell makes it official with romantic engagement announcement
George Russell is engaged to longtime partner Carmen Montero Mundt after proposing during a romantic beachside dinner

Mercedes Formula 1 driver George Russell has announced his engagement to longtime partner Carmen Montero Mundt after proposing during an intimate beachside dinner.
Russell, 28, shared the engagement news on social media on Aug. 9, posting photographs from the romantic occasion. The images appeared to show the couple celebrating at a candlelit dinner on a beach, with Russell revealing the news through a simple ring and white heart emoji.
Russell and Montero Mundt began dating in early 2020 after being introduced by a mutual friend. Since then, Montero Mundt has regularly accompanied the Mercedes driver at Formula 1 races and become a familiar face in the F1 paddock.
Montero Mundt works in the financial sector and recently launched her own skincare brand, Barriers. Originally from Spain, she moved to the United Kingdom at 18 to pursue her education. She later earned a degree in business management and finance from the University of Westminster.
Russell has previously spoken about the role Montero Mundt plays in his life away from Formula 1. In an interview with The Times in June, he described her as a source of stability and said she helps him disconnect from the demands of racing.
At the time, Russell also suggested marriage was part of their future, saying he hoped they would marry within five years.
Following the engagement announcement, Russell received congratulations from several members of the Formula 1 community. Mercedes teammate Kimi Antonelli, Pierre Gasly, Alex Albon’s fiancée Lily Muni He, Mercedes, Williams and Formula 1 were among those sharing messages.
The engagement comes as Russell continues his Formula 1 career with Mercedes alongside his personal milestone with Montero Mundt.
