Jessie Cave, known for playing Lavender Brown in the Harry Potter films, has said her earnings from OnlyFans exceeded what she made throughout her acting career in a single year.

The 39-year-old actress discussed her income from the subscription platform during an interview with The Times, explaining that she initially expected to use it as a temporary way to improve her financial situation.

“I thought I’d make five grand, be on it for a few months and it would buy me time to work out what we’re going to do,” Cave said. “But it’s now been over a year and a half, and it’s genuinely saved our lives.”

Cave charges subscribers $6 a month for non-explicit content focused on hair. Her videos feature her fully clothed, brushing, braiding or styling her hair while wearing costumes.

“I’ve earned more, easily, than my entire acting career within one year,” she said.

According to the supplied report, Cave earned approximately $20,200 in a single day on the platform. She said her approach to the content centres on her hair.

“Her hair is the main character,” Cave said. “That's how I justify it.”

Cave joined OnlyFans after struggling to find acting work while supporting her four children with fiancé Alfie Brown.

She described the decision as “a point of complete desperation” after being rejected following a callback audition.

“I had a breakdown, and I thought, ‘That’s it with acting, I give up.’ But, also, we have no money,” she said.

Cave first announced her OnlyFans account in March 2025, saying she intended to use the income to help pay off debt and address problems with her home.

She played Lavender Brown in the final three Harry Potter films between 2009 and 2011. Cave has since appeared in projects including Black Mirror and Industry and has also worked on stage.

Cave said she could see other artists using platforms outside traditional entertainment to generate income when work is unavailable.
