Celebrities demand justice after child's death
Pakistani actor Ayesha Omar expressed grief and anger over the alleged rape and death of a 1.5-year-old girl in Karachi. Sharing the news on her Instagram Stories, she wrote
"We are in the lowest of lows. What is this society? What is this country? What do we really stand for? We collectively need to ask ourselves that and figure out a way forward. We cannot go on like this anymore."
The alleged rape and death of the toddler has sparked widespread outrage across Pakistan, with several celebrities demanding justice and stronger action against sexual offenders.
According to police, the child was allegedly taken outside by her 17-year-old cousin under the pretext of a walk. She was later brought home in critical condition and died during treatment at a hospital.
Actor Mishi Khan also condemned the incident in a video message, saying such crimes continue because offenders do not face strict punishment. She urged the Sindh government to take tougher action and called for stronger measures to prevent such crimes.
Actor Aiman Khan shared the news on Instagram Stories, writing: "What's happening in the country? It's time to start punishing these rapists."
Meanwhile, Mariyam Nafees urged parents to never leave young children unattended, while Ahsan Khan also shared the case on Instagram, tagging the Sindh government and calling for justice.
