Gilani calls for stronger sports infrastructure

ISLAMABAD:

Senate Chairman Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani has called for collective efforts to strengthen Pakistan's sports infrastructure and create greater opportunities for athletes to compete and excel at regional and international levels.

He made the remarks during a meeting in Islamabad with internationally acclaimed professional wrestler Ather Zahid, the first Saudi-born Pakistani wrestler to represent Pakistan on the international stage.

Gilani congratulated the wrestler on his achievements and wished him continued success in his career. He said Pakistani athletes served as ambassadors for the country.
