Vin Diesel says 'Fast Forever' script is 'the best' he's read in decades

Diesel revealed that he has just read the script and is 'still crying' after reading it

Vin Diesel has shared a major update on Fast Forever, revealing that he has read the screenplay for the final Fast & Furious film and calling it "the best script" he has read in decades. The actor admitted the emotional story left him in tears.

In an Instagram post celebrating the 25th anniversary re-release of the original The Fast and the Furious, Diesel told fans: "You have no idea… When March 17, 2028 comes… you will thank God you got to see the first one in theatres this summer. I just read the Fast Forever script by Mike Lesslie. It is the best script I have read in decades. I am still crying."

Diesel's comments come after Reacher star Alan Ritchson, who joined the franchise in Fast X, revealed that the production has faced significant financial and logistical hurdles. He said the team has been working through "a lot of obstacles", including reducing the budget while still delivering a fitting conclusion to the long-running action series.

Fast Forever is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on 17 March 2028 and will serve as the final chapter in the blockbuster franchise. Michael Lesslie, whose previous credits include The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, wrote the latest version of the screenplay, while Louis Leterrier is expected to return as director.

Diesel has previously promised that the finale will bring the saga back to its street-racing roots in Los Angeles while delivering an emotional farewell to Dom Toretto and his extended family. Fans are also expecting the return of several familiar faces as the franchise concludes after more than 25 years on the big screen.
