Olivia Dean brought Sam Fender onstage during her Lollapalooza headline set on Saturday, August 1, performing their hit collaboration “Rein Me In” live for the first time in America.

Dean headlined the third night of Lollapalooza at the T-Mobile stage, drawing a large crowd that extended to the back of the performance area.

The British singer-songwriter reflected on her career and the impact of her latest album, The Art of Loving, during the set.

“So this album (The Art of Loving) has just completely changed my life, and it’s been so healing and I’m so proud … It’s been crazy,” Dean said. “The whole point of this album is about me trying to figure out what life really means to me.”

Before introducing Fender, Dean told the crowd about the success of “Rein Me In”, which has become the UK’s longest-running No. 1 single with 19 weeks at the top of the Official Singles Chart, surpassing Frankie Laine’s 18-week record set in 1953.

“We're going to do something special, because we're also celebrating today, because back home in the UK, I'm very proud to be part of a song that's just broken the Guinness World Record, and the longest running number one in UK history, and I'm so proud to be a part of it. It only felt right that we play it for the first time ever in America, with the man himself, Mr Sam Fender!”

According to Variety, the song has also become Fender’s first UK No. 1 single and has returned to No. 1 four times during its chart run.
