Dylan Sprouse's 2018 tweet about Jared Leto resurfaces amid new sexual assault allegations

10 women have accused Leto of sexual assault when they were teenagers in a BBC documentary

An eight-year-old tweet from Dylan Sprouse has resurfaced after new sexual assault allegations against Jared Leto emerged in a BBC documentary, drawing renewed attention to comments the actor made about the Oscar winner in 2018.

The post, shared on X in May 2018, read: "Yo @JaredLeto now that you've slid into the DMs of every female model aged 18–25, what would you say your success rate is?" At the time, the remark appeared to reference long-running rumours about Leto's interactions with young women, but it has since gone viral following the release of the BBC documentary Jared Leto: Hollywood's Dark Secret.

The documentary features allegations from 10 women, including four who accuse Leto of sexual assault or other sexual misconduct when they were teenagers. One woman alleges she was 17 when Leto sexually assaulted her, while another claims he groomed her when she was 16. The BBC said it corroborated aspects of the women's accounts through documents, messages and witness testimony.

Leto has strongly denied all of the allegations. In a statement, the actor and Thirty Seconds to Mars frontman said: "I have never sexually assaulted anyone in my entire life. These claims are absolutely and categorically false."

The resurfaced tweet has also renewed interest in a now-deleted reply from filmmaker James Gunn, who responded to Sprouse's post in 2018 by writing, "He starts at 18 on the Internet?" Screenshots of the exchange have circulated widely on social media following the documentary's release.

Sprouse has not publicly commented on the renewed attention surrounding his post. The actor, who has largely stepped away from X in recent years, is currently expecting his first child with wife Barbara Palvin. Meanwhile, the allegations against Leto continue to generate widespread discussion online, although no criminal charges have been filed and he is not currently under criminal investigation.
