RIYADH: Saudi Arabia beheaded a Yemeni on Thursday after convicting him of killing a Pakistani in a robbery, the interior ministry said. Abdul Razaq al Sayed was put to the sword in the southwestern city of Abha for stabbing Shaudri Nawaz, said a ministry statement. Another 14 Yemenis were sentenced to jail terms and the lash after being found guilty of taking part in the assault on Nawaz and a second Pakistani, the statement added. Human rights group Amnesty International said in a statement on September 20 that Saudi Arabia had carried out at least 44 executions since January. Sayed’s execution brings the total to at least 46.
