Netflix reveals packed August 2026 lineup with ‘M3GAN’, ‘Chucky’ and ‘Outer Banks’ finale
New films, returning series and classic blockbusters join streaming service throughout month for subscribers worldwide

Netflix has unveiled its August 2026 release schedule, offering subscribers a broad mix of horror films, blockbuster favourites, returning original series and fresh documentaries as the platform prepares viewers for the transition into the autumn entertainment season.
Leading the month's additions is a strong horror collection, with several entries from the Child's Play franchise arriving on August 1. Viewers will be able to stream Bride of Chucky, Child's Play 2, Child's Play 3, Cult of Chucky, and Curse of Chucky, giving fans the chance to revisit the iconic killer doll ahead of Halloween season.
The horror offering expands further later in the month with Five Nights at Freddy's 2 arriving on August 3, followed by The Shallows on August 15 and M3GAN on August 24. The collection combines established horror favourites with recent box office successes that have attracted new audiences in recent years.
Netflix is also balancing its darker titles with well known family films and action blockbusters. August begins with additions including Annie, Clueless, Minions, Field of Dreams, Nightcrawler and Zero Dark Thirty. Fans of high speed action will also find the early Fast & Furious films joining the library, including The Fast and the Furious, 2 Fast 2 Furious, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, Fast Five, Fast & Furious, Fast & Furious 6 and Furious 7.
The month also features a busy schedule for Netflix originals. One of the biggest returning titles is the fifth and final season of Outer Banks, which premieres on August 20. The coming of age adventure series has been one of Netflix's most successful young adult dramas, making its concluding season one of the platform's headline releases.
Fans of romantic drama can look forward to Season 3 of My Life With the Walter Boys on August 6, while Love Is Blind: UK returns for its third season on August 19. Comedy also receives fresh additions with Season 2 of Leanne arriving on August 27 and Season 3 of Tires debuting on August 13.
International programming continues to play a significant role in Netflix's strategy. The service will debut the second part of One Hundred Years of Solitude on August 5 before releasing its grand finale on August 26. Additional international titles, documentaries and reality programming are scheduled throughout the month, reflecting Netflix's continued investment in global storytelling.
Documentary fans will find new factual programming including Big Chicken: A Fast Food Conspiracy, Freefall: A Reckoning for Boeing and Untold: The Testimony of Vince Young. Sports content also remains part of the platform's expanding catalogue, including coverage of MLB's Field of Dreams game.
