Diddy prison release date moved up despite reported inmate fight

Sean "Diddy" Combs' projected release date from federal prison has been moved forward again, despite reports of a recent disciplinary incident involving another inmate.

According to the Federal Bureau of Prisons website, Combs is now scheduled for release on January 24 2028. The date has shifted multiple times since he was sentenced to 50 months in prison in October 2025 on sex crime charges.

His original release date of May 8 2028 was reportedly adjusted after a prison rules violation involving homemade prison wine. It was later moved to April 25 2028 before being revised again to the current January 2028 projection.

The latest update comes after reports that Combs was placed in solitary confinement following an altercation at FCI Fort Dix.

TMZ reported the incident began after another inmate allegedly insulted Combs, leading to a physical confrontation before staff intervened.

A spokesperson for FCI Fort Dix declined to comment on the reported fight.

"We are not at liberty to disclose or provide internal information pertaining to any inmate in our custody," the spokesperson said. "Such information would not be available for the public domain."

The Federal Bureau of Prisons also said it does not comment on "disciplinary matters, or other information regarding individual inmates due to privacy, safety and security concerns."

Combs has continued to appeal his conviction under the Mann Act. His latest appeal argues that recorded encounters involving him and others should be considered amateur pornography rather than criminal conduct.

CBS News reported that Combs was among several public figures considered for clemency by President Donald Trump ahead of America 250 and Freedom 250 events, though no pardon was granted.

The Bureau of Prisons currently lists his release date as January 24 2028.
