The controversy began after Australian Pokémon seller PokeAus Hits revealed the card during a live Whatnot stream featuring unreleased 30th Celebration booster packs. The Mew card immediately caught collectors' attention due to its distinctive design, featuring a textured blue foil finish, artwork by YOSHIROTTEN and the unusual "B/RGB" marking instead of a traditional collector number.

The appearance of the RGB Mew card has fueled speculation that it could belong to a hidden subset within the anniversary expansion. Supporters point to YOSHIROTTEN’s involvement, as the artist also illustrated the officially announced Futuristic rare Mew ex and Mewtwo ex cards. Fans have also noted the artist's previous RGB-themed work, leading to theories that "B/RGB" may reference a secret red, green and blue collection inspired by the original Pokémon games.

Critics also note that its gameplay details closely resemble the officially revealed MEP Promo 105 Mew, raising questions about whether it could be an elaborate custom creation.

Neither The Pokémon Company nor YOSHIROTTEN has commented on the mystery card, and no additional copies have surfaced for independent verification.
