Next generation: PTCL upgrades telephone exchanges

Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has announced that it is upgrading its telephone exchanges from Time Division Multiplexing (TDM)-based technology to latest Next Generation Network (NGN) technology for providing better and improved services to the customers. In this connection, the company has started migration series in Azizabad Exchange and all telephone numbers with prefix series of 3631-3637 will be migrated, a press release says. “There will be no change in existing telephone numbers after the migration. There will be minor change of procedure for activation and de-activation of code barring service and other value-added services,” PTCL said. The company said it would keep the out time as minimum as possible and asked customers to call its help desk or call centre agent for any help and assistance. PRESS RELEASE
