God of War Laufey star Deborah Ann Woll is ‘totally unbothered’ by fan backlash
God of War Laufey star Deborah Ann Woll says criticism has not affected her because she believes game to be 'great'

God of War Laufey star Deborah Ann Woll has addressed the mixed reaction to the newly announced PlayStation spin-off, saying she remains confident in the project despite criticism from some fans.
Revealed during PlayStation's State of Play presentation in June, God of War Laufey shifts the focus away from Kratos and follows his wife, Faye, after the events of the 2018 God of War reboot.
The announcement divided the fanbase, with some welcoming the new direction while others questioned the decision to centre the story on a different protagonist.
The reveal even prompted a public joke from Domino's Pizza, which Sony Santa Monica later responded to.
Speaking during a signing session at Florida Supercon with TikToker quinnphobic, Woll explained that the backlash has not affected her.
“Genuinely, I thought I was going to be much more affected by it, but one, I’m not on social media, so that helps,” she said. “And two, I don’t know, I feel totally unbothered, because I just know it’s great.”
She added, “It’s okay if it’s not your cup of tea, but in no universe is it bad.”
Woll, who voiced Faye in God of War Ragnarök, also revealed that the idea for a standalone game centred on the character has been in development for much longer than many fans may have realised.
According to the actress, God of War director Cory Barlog first pitched the concept to her back in 2018, meaning she has kept the project under wraps for years before its official announcement.
