The Claudia Winkleman Show has been canceled after just one season, with host Claudia Winkleman deciding not to return for a second run of the BBC talk show.

Winkleman confirmed that the decision was her own, explaining that although she appreciated the opportunity, she found the experience more stressful than enjoyable. In a statement, she thanked the BBC, the show's guests and the production team, saying she realised she was "too nervous to enjoy it." She added that she may revisit the format in the future but is currently focused on the television projects she already hosts.

The celebrity chat show premiered in February as a Friday-night programme designed to fill the gap while The Graham Norton Show was on hiatus. Produced in partnership with Graham Norton’s production company, So Television, the series featured celebrity interviews in a relaxed sofa-chat format similar to Norton’s long-running programme.

The debut episode welcomed high-profile guests including Jeff Goldblum, Jennifer Saunders, Vanessa Williams and Tom Allen. However, subsequent episodes featured fewer major celebrity names, and the seven-episode series received mixed reviews from critics. Audience ratings also remained below those typically achieved by The Graham Norton Show.

Despite speculation that the BBC was open to commissioning another season, Winkleman ultimately decided against returning.

BBC Director of Entertainment Ed Havard praised Winkleman’s warmth and humour, saying the broadcaster respected her decision and thanked the production team for bringing the series to audiences.

Although her talk show has ended, Winkleman will remain a prominent face on the BBC. She continues to host The Traitors UK and Strictly Come Dancing, with Celebrity Traitors scheduled to return later this year.
