Julia Garner and Mark Foster separate after more than six years of marriage, source says
The insider has not disclose a reason for the separation of the couple who tied the knot in 2019

Julia Garner and her husband, Foster the People frontman Mark Foster, have separated after more than six years of marriage, according to a source close to the couple. Representatives for both stars have not commented publicly on the reported split.
A source confirmed to People that the Emmy-winning Ozark actress, 32, and Foster, 42, recently went their separate ways after marrying in December 2019. The insider did not disclose a reason for the separation, and neither Garner nor Foster has publicly addressed the report.
Garner and Foster first met at the Sundance Film Festival in 2013 but did not begin dating until years later after reconnecting through Instagram. In a previous interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Garner recalled noticing Foster interacting with her posts before the pair began exchanging messages online.
Their relationship quickly blossomed, with Foster proposing during a trip to Montana in 2019. Garner later told Vogue that the musician read her a poem he had written before asking her to marry him. The couple tied the knot in an intimate New York City Hall ceremony later that year, inspired by the courthouse wedding of Garner's parents.
Throughout their marriage, the pair largely kept their relationship out of the spotlight but occasionally shared heartfelt tributes to one another. Foster celebrated anniversaries with poems dedicated to Garner, while the actress frequently thanked her husband in award acceptance speeches, including after her Emmy and Golden Globe victories. He also surprised her on their wedding day by performing an original song he had written for their first dance.
Fans recently noticed that many of the couple's social media posts featuring one another had been deleted, fuelling speculation about the state of their relationship before news of the separation emerged. Garner was also photographed without her wedding ring earlier this month, although neither she nor Foster commented on the speculation.
Garner is best known for her award-winning performance as Ruth Langmore in Netflix's Ozark and has since starred in Inventing Anna, The Fantastic Four: First Steps and the upcoming thriller Tyrant. Foster rose to fame as the lead singer and songwriter of the Grammy-nominated indie band Foster the People, whose hits include "Pumped Up Kicks" and "Houdini."
While the source confirmed the separation, no further details about the couple's future plans have been made public, and representatives for both Garner and Foster did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
